Global Audience Estimate

The BBC's Global Audience Estimate is a measure of how many people the BBC reach weekly with its news and entertainment content. This animation was commissioned for internal & online use to explain it's findings. Voiceover by the legendary Derek Griffiths.

BBC Sounds: Metadata

BBC Audio asked Mule to create an animated training video to explain the importance of metadata and how it is used in BBC Sounds.

The video was commissioned as part of an internal marketing campaign aimed at BBC radio & audio production teams. The creative brief was to communicate the importance of metadata and how developing good metadata standards are key to the success of BBC Sounds.

BBC Studios: Gen Z

As part of a thought-leadership study, BBC News aimed to find out what makes Gen Z tick; their relationship with brands and with media brands. This video was commissioned to highlight some of the main discoveries from the research. Illustrations by Abbey Lossing.

The Incredible Rise of Romain Saiss

Mule were commissioned by BBC Sport to illustrate the story of Romain Saiss and his incredible footballing journey.

Just six years after playing non-league football in France, Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder and Moroccan international Romain Saiss made his Premier League debut.

The 29-year-old also had the chance to reach an FA Cup final, when Wolves played Watford, which no Moroccan has ever won. Unfortunately Romain didn’t get the chance to play in a FA Cup final this time, but his rapid rise from non-league to Premier League is a remarkable achievement.

World Cup Infographic

19 million people viewed pages on bbc.com during the 2014 World Cup. This animated infographic highlights to potential advertisers the record breaking numbers that visited bbc.com during the World Cup.

Talking Business: Opening Titles

Programme branding & titles sequence for Talking Business, a new daily business programme on BBC World News. Presenters are based around the world, in the most dynamic cities, ready to discuss the the key global business issues of the day.

BBC Production Management Fest

Mule created branding for the BBC Production Management Fest online event. Deliverables included multiple animated stings & lower thirds.

BBC Radio Player App

30 second animation for TV and online to encourage new & existing audiences to download and listen to BBC World Service radio on the BBC iPlayer radio app.

BBC Upfront

BBC Studios commissioned Mule to create branding for their Upfront event held in the historic BBC Radio Theatre. As well as creating the brand mark, deliverables included animated looping backgrounds for the theatre screen, eventbrite banner, email sig, image posts for LinkedIn and live event presenter background slides.

IAB Digital Upfronts are events hosted by the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) UK, a digital advertising industry body, to showcase digital advertising opportunities and trends for the upcoming year. 

‘The Ripple Effect’

Short explainer film commissioned by Econ Films for Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA). Explaining how investing in IPA is high impact, high leverage and ripples out to create a better world.

The Engineers

Opening titles for The Engineers ‘The Future of Cars' & ‘Clean Energy’. The Engineers is an annual series of panel events hosted by BBC World Service in partnership with the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851.

Nuffield Family Justice Observatory

Short explainer film commissioned by Econ Films for Nuffield Family Justice Observatory. Setting out findings of a consultation to inform the post-pandemic recovery plans of the family court and the Court of Protection.

Building the Health of the Nation - infographic showing the priority areas health and care leaders want to see the new government focus on.

BBC African Footballer of the Year Opening Titles

Promotional branding including opening titles for BBC African Footballer of the Year 2015.

Dunia

Art direction & motion design for Dunia, a news bulletin from the BBC’s Hindi Service. The creative was in response to audience insight suggesting that it’s seen as embarrassing if you don’t have a grasp of what’s happening in the world. It’s a young, aspirational audience, so the creative plays on this potential embarrassment, while having a fun, fresh vibe.

Social Marketing for BBC Podcasts

A series of 17 short fun 1080 x 1080 animations for Facebook & Instagram. Designed to help attract new audiences by promoting a series of inspiring, educational and entertaining podcasts from the BBC World Service.

BBC Pashto

30 second animation for TV & online to promote BBC News on Shamshad TV in Afghanistan. An international news programme in the pashto language.

What do 2 million Facebook fans look like? This light-hearted online video was created to celebrate BBC World News reaching 2 million Facebook Likes.

60 second on-air promotional film for BBC World News to promote coverage of international business on the BBC. This film was part of a series highlighting how business is connected globally.

TV & online promotional trail for BBC World Service news bulletins which appear on non-BBC stations around the world. The client wanted something very quick, clear and to the point. It also needed to be easily re-versioned into 33 different languages.
